Weaving Sparks into the Tapestry of Time

It started with a text from a friend. We were reminiscing about our mothers—both of whom have passed—and she said, “You saw her strengths despite her flaws.” Those words stopped me. Did I? Because, honestly, this grief has led me down some dark alleys of anger. As someone who calls it like I see it, I’ve always been able to spot patterns—people’s personas, their limiting beliefs, their conditioned behaviors. Maybe it’s my 6/2 Projector nature in Human Design, which tunes me into seeing the deeper currents of life, or maybe it’s just a willingness to look at myself. Either way, I believe we all have this capacity to reflect, to evolve, and to heal.
This journey of self-reflection isn’t always easy. At first, we often view ourselves and others through a shadow lens—blame, shame, guilt, fear, anger, self-doubt, or even victimhood. These are the filters that cloud our perspective, whispering, “I can’t get it right,” or “It’s my mother’s fault; I carry her wound.” Our ego might convince us this is a healed view, a truth. And it is—a partial truth, a step on the path. But as we heal deeper, we get closer to the fuller Truth, one that transcends these shadows and embraces a wider, more compassionate view.
Something shifts when someone truly sees us—someone clear, grounded, healed. They reflect us back in a new light, not cloaked in the fears or shame that subtly shape our deepest shadows. Suddenly, our perspective changes. The ego, curious like a child peeking around a corner, starts seeking more of this light. It’s a spark, a glimpse of grace, where we begin to see people—including ourselves—not as good or bad, but as beautifully complex. Each of us carries patterns, stories, gifts, and challenges, dancing together in an intricate flow of energy—sometimes a gentle embrace, sometimes a torrential wave. When you step back and see the whole pattern, it’s intriguing, curious, and profoundly beautiful.
This shift, for me, began just over ten years ago, on my 40th birthday, when my mother gifted me two heirlooms: a ring from my maternal-maternal grandmother and a watch from my maternal-paternal grandmother. I tucked them away, and for years, I couldn’t find them. Then, on August 8th, 2025, just two days ago, I rediscovered them. The timing feels like no coincidence—it’s been 9 years and 9 months since my awakening truly took off, a period that aligns with 13 human gestational cycles, a symbolic rebirth. This rediscovery, followed by a powerful conversation with my friend, feels like the universe affirming this journey of healing.
What are these sparks we weave into the tapestry of time? They’re moments of light—new perspectives that illuminate growth, empowerment, power, and love. They’re the clarity that comes when we see our wounds not as burdens but as part of a larger story. They’re the courage to claim our strength and the love that flows when we honor our complexity. For me, finding that ring and watch was a spark—a tangible reminder of the women in my line, whose strength I now see so clearly.
When we look at our ancestors through this lens of grace, we can ask: Where did their story begin? What patterns or conditioned behaviors shaped them? How did their wounds and strengths weave together? If you feel called, you might gently explore this yourself—perhaps by reflecting on a single moment in an ancestor’s life, imagining their challenges, and noticing where their resilience shone through. This is Ancestral Shadow Healing, a deep and powerful practice that reveals the strength in our lineage.
When I look at my maternal line this way, one truth stands out: every woman was incredibly strong. Their strength manifested differently—through survival, creativity, quiet endurance—but it was always there. I have no doubt that exploring my paternal line, or any of our lineages, would reveal the same. We are born of power and strength, each generation building on the one before, weaving a tapestry through time. Those heirlooms, lost and found, are a thread in that tapestry, connecting me to the resilience of my grandmothers.
This process of healing and seeing sparks doesn’t end—it evolves. It might begin when you see light in others, or when you glimpse it in yourself. As the ego steps aside, softened by compassionate curiosity, the dance of growth unfolds seamlessly. We become part of something larger, weaving our own sparks—our light, our love, our empowered choices—into the fabric of our lineage.
